Who this is for

  • Adults with ARFID (avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder), including when it overlaps with autism or ADHD
  • Adults who have finished an IOP, PHP or residential program and need ongoing outpatient therapy
  • Adults whose eating issues are tied up with trauma, anxiety or sensory sensitivities

Why step-down care matters

Leaving a program is a vulnerable time. The structure disappears, and real life comes back all at once. I worked as a primary therapist in eating disorder treatment for years, and outpatient continuity is often the missing piece. We focus on holding onto what you built in treatment while dealing with what comes next.

ARFID

ARFID is not about body image. It is restriction driven by things like sensory sensitivity, fear of choking or vomiting, or low interest in food. It is common in autistic and ADHD adults and often missed. Treatment is gradual and practical, and it respects real sensory differences.

Working with your team

Eating disorder care works best as a team. With your permission, I coordinate with your dietitian, medical provider and psychiatric provider. If you need a higher level of care than outpatient therapy, I will tell you.

Questions

Do you treat active anorexia or bulimia?

I mainly see adults after a higher level of care, and adults with ARFID. If you need more support than outpatient therapy, I will help you find it.

Is ARFID the same as picky eating?

No. ARFID causes real nutritional, medical or social problems and usually needs treatment.

Can you see me if I am still in a program?

Usually we start as you step down, coordinating with your program team.
