Who this is for

  • Adults who grew up with an abusive, narcissistic or unpredictable parent
  • People with complex PTSD, or PTSD from a specific event
  • People whose trauma shows up as perfectionism, people-pleasing, hypervigilance or burnout
  • Adults with ADHD or autism whose trauma has been missed or misread

How I approach it

Trauma work goes in stages. First we make sure you have enough stability and tools to handle what comes up. Then we work on the memories and beliefs directly. Then we look at how you want to live now that they have less of a grip.

I do not use one method for everyone. I choose approaches based on what fits you, and I explain why. You set the pace, and you do not have to tell me everything to start.

Cost

Sessions are $180 for 60 minutes after a $200 initial assessment. I am in network with Anthem, Aetna and United through Alma, and provide superbills for other plans. See all fees.

Questions

Do I have to talk about everything that happened?

No. Several approaches, including EMDR and CPT, work without a detailed retelling. We decide together how much detail is useful.

Which trauma therapy is best?

EMDR, CPT and trauma-focused CBT all have strong evidence. The best fit depends on your history, your goals and how you process things. We choose together.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Single-event trauma can improve in a few months. Childhood and complex trauma usually take longer, often with stabilization work first.
